There’s something about cows. They’re gentle and kind, not to mention darn cute! And the folk at MooGoo agree, using them as the inspiration for their skincare range. Inspired by the cream used to keep cows udders soft and supple for milking, they’ve created a range gentle enough for all skin types, yet effective enough for all skin conditions.
The MooGoo Milk Wash* is a versatile product, designed for the face but just as good everywhere else. While the creamy formula might initially feel too lightweight to do anything, it easily removes dirt, grime and a full face of makeup with minimal scrubbing. It’s gentle, calming and hydrating, using natural cleansing agents and soothing rapeseed and jojoba oils. And my absolute favourite part is the scent. It’s a sweet scent that reminds me of Milko Chews or Moo Chews (anyone remember those?). So it immediately puts me in a good mood when I use it!
And the best part is that you don’t have to wash that delicious scent away, because following up with the Skin Milk Udder Cream* will leave your skin smelling sweet all day long! This is the cream that started the MooGoo legacy, non-greasy and suitable for all skin types and conditions. Milk protein is added for skin elasticity, plus olive oil, sweet almond oil, aloe vera – and a base of water. They also use a unique hops extract as a natural preservative, eliminating both bacteria and the need for parabens. It’s thick without being hard to blend, moisturising and soothing the skin. It’s often used for patients undergoing chemotherapy, who experience dry, damaged skin as a side effect, so anyone with experience in hospitals might recognise the name.
The only product that I’m confused by is the 3 Vitamins Serum* – or is it the 3 Vitamins Eye Serum? As you can see above, the external milk carton (how cute is that?!) has a different name to the pump bottle, and both have different directions for use. When I tried to double check on the website, the title is different to the body copy. So I’ve had to come to my own conclusions! Being a runny serum, I find it’s great for use on the face as a whole, not simply under the eyes.
This lightweight serum is full of goodness. You’ve got jojoba and olive oils to enhance moisture retention and fight dryness, vitamin C and vitamin E for their antioxidant and anti-ageing properties, and pro vitamin B5 to condition and soothe. It has a distinctly woody scent from the jojoba oil, and it absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving a healthy, non-oily sheen.
Ultimately, the combination of these three MooGoo products have left this blogger – and her skin – very happy! Sometimes the simple products really are the best, and this little Aussie brand have a loyal cult following for a very good reason.
