TFO Etsy Find: iamtob succulent planters

TFO Etsy Find iamtob resin succulent planters

One of my favourite websites to browse has to be Etsy. I can seriously spend hours on there, imagining all the things I could buy if I had the space & the money! So I am really excited to introduce you to a brand new regular post – TFO Etsy Find – where I can share with you all the AMAZING local products that I find on Etsy, and the talented people behind them.

First cab off the rank is Tegan of iamtob, a jewellery label that has very recently introduced a range of delightful handmade resin planters. I stumbled across these on Tegan’s Instagram, and it probably took me a whole 15 minutes between seeing the first photo, and getting in touch to ask if she would provide photos for this post! I just fell in love with them straight away. The planters are created with no holes in the base, as succulents do not require much water. This also means that you can use them as containers for other objects as well, total win-win!

The smaller planters are $50, and she is currently working on larger planter bowls (the darker ones above & below). You can purchase through the iamtob Etsy Shop, or I believe Tegan pops up at a few markets around Sydney.

3 quick questions with Tegan of iamtob…

How long have you been designing and creating your own jewellery?
I completed my degree in Jewellery and Object Design in 2012 and started my label shortly after.

What inspired you to create the succulent planters?
As well as creating jewellery, I’m also a florist. Floristry introduced me to succulents, which I love for all the different forms, textures and colours – plus they are extremely hard to kill. Designing planters seemed like the perfect way to combine two of my passions.

Why did you choose to make them from resin, and can you describe the process involved?
I love working with resin, you never know how exactly it will turn out and it’s nearly impossible to create the same piece twice. The process takes a bit of effort, creating different moulds, mixing, pouring then lots and lots of sanding!
