Hands up if you haven’t started your Christmas shopping yet! I’m notoriously last minute with presents for any occasion, so if you’re like me and still need gift inspiration, I’ve gathered some fab ideas. I’ll be spreading these out over a series of posts, starting with DB Cosmetics and their gorgeous range of limited edition palettes.
If you have someone in your life who loves makeup, a palette makes the perfect gift. I’ve selected 3 options to suit anyone, with an eyeshadow palette, highlight palette and all-in-one face palette all available for under $20. Secret Santa sorted!
The jewel-tones in the Like A Diamond Eyeshadow Palette* are to die for. From rose gold to plum to granite, you can create a look as unique as you are. It includes 5 matte neutrals and 7 shimmer shades. They’re heavily pigmented, but also super soft and easy to blend. You don’t need a lot on your brush for these!
I’m obsessed with the colours in this, they are so beautiful and so easy to wear. It’s great for the beauty guru, who can use the heavier colours with confidence, but also for the newbie, who can slowly build up from a neutral eye. One thing I love about this palette is the range of transition colours, with DB Cosmetics considering all skin tones when creating this. I find that with some palettes, they’re a bit too light for my skin, but this one has 2 shades in particular that work wonders to blend everything together.
The palette also comes with a a dual-end eyeshadow brush and kohl eyeliner pencil, which are both quality additions and help to define your look. And the packaging, that alone screams Christmas with it’s glitter case!
Have someone to buy for, but not sure what makeup they like? The Hollywood Glam All-in-One Face Palette* is your one stop shop. With 6 eyeshadow shades, 3 lip tints, highlighter, blush and contour, this palette has you covered.
I love that they’ve packed so much in, but it somehow has so many options. With both a rose and peach blush, light and medium bronze for contouring, and a highlight that will suit any skin type. It’s perfect to create a red carpet-worthy look.
The dual-ended eyeshadow sponge applicator is the only downfall of this palette. I feel like a lip / shadow brush would have been amazing instead, because I don’t know anyone who actually uses the sponge applicators. But the tin casing it super cute, and it has an extra large mirror inside which adds to the luxe feel.
The absolute cult fave from this range would be the Up In Lights Highlight Kit*. Who doesn’t love a good glow, especially around Christmas and NYE!
I was immediately drawn to the reflective starbursts inside and out, and you know before opening it that this is going to be good! Seriously, if you gift this to someone, expect them to be using it within 30 seconds. It’s just that stunning! The 4 shades inside are appropriately named: glimmer, aurora, lit and flicker. There’s a shade for everyone, and they have staying power, lasting all day and night. Plus the back of the palette has a cute little illustration of where to apply the highlight, for anyone starting out or needing a reminder.
The palette does look similar to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Glow Kit, but the DB Cosmetics shades are more powdery and you can build them slowly. Perfect to customise your look, from a subtle glow to blinding!
These limited edition beauties are sure to go quickly, so if they’re out of stock online, make sure to check the DB Cosmetics Store Locator to see if they’re still available in a store near you.
