Summer make-up made easy with Colour Theory

Summer Make-Up Trends 2015 Colour Theory

Looking for fresh new summer make-up, but not sure where to start? Keep it simple by purchasing quality, pigmented products with staying power. Bonus points if they don’t break the bank – the silly season is expensive enough, thank you!

Colour Theory understand all of this, offering gorgeous, affordable cosmetics available exclusively through Amcal chemists. And their new spring/summer make-up range will have you lusting after pastel-hued nails and sun-kissed skin!

“Spring summer is a time for experimenting with fun colours and Colour Theory’s new collection allows you to do just that. From beautifully-toned pastel eyeshadow colours, to bubble-gum lipsticks, Colour Theory has made it easy and affordable to get the runway look,” – Rachael Finch, Brand Ambassador for Amcal, Amcal Max and Guardian pharmacies & former Miss Universe Australia

My hot pick is the Bronzer Highlighter Duo* and it’s magical contouring/strobing powers. This beauty retails for just $10, and let’s be honest – you need this in your life. The bronzer gives your skin that “I’ve just been on a tropical holiday” glow, while the highlighter catches the light and makes you feel like a supermodel. And once you’ve applied, it doesn’t budge – even on my crazy oily skin! I’ll be purchasing another seventy million next time I’m at the shops, so I never have to run out. Not even sure if I’m joking or not… at least another 4 anyway.

My second favourite would be the Jumbo Lip Crayon* in Rosewood (and not because the colour is named after the town in Pretty Little Liars). It combines all the best parts of a gloss, balm & lipstick in a retractable crayon design. It’s moisturising yet heavily pigmented, which can be a hard balance to get right, and it wears evenly. It’s available in 4 colours, but I’m so glad I got the Rosewood – the burgundy/rose colour is perfect to take you from day to night.

Colour Theory have put a lot of effort into making great nail polishes – they’re affordable, with a decent brush and a formula that sits in that happy place between runny and sticky. So I was excited to receive the Nail Polish* in I Love Bubble Gum, one of 4 shades in their new Gelato Dreams collection. It’s a girlie, baby pink that looks great against any skin colour – and could almost be a nod towards Pantone’s Colour of the Year, Rose Quartz!

To complete my look, I applied two coats of Mascara Define* to my top lashes. It lengthens and curls, giving definition to each individual lash. I’m not completely in love with this, as I prefer volumising mascaras, but it’s perfect for a daytime office look. The formula is easy to build without clumping.

Make sure you check out the latest Colour Theory collection at your local Amcal store!
