When I was growing up, facial wipes weren’t really a thing. You may as well have used Wet Ones, that’s how generic they were – no regard to skin type and they were either drying or drenched, there was no middle ground. Then the market grew and more options became available; however, it has still taken some time to find some that work for my skin. Reviewing the Milk & Co Beauty Wipes last year definitely kick-started my curiosity, so I was excited when I received samples of these WOTNOT Facial Wipes* – especially their new wipes for oily/sensitive skin, which sound perfect for my moody skin.
In January, WOTNOT launched their Facial Wipes for oily/sensitive skin*, aimed at teenagers and people with problem skin. They promise to remove dirt & grime while maintaining the delicate balance of sebum, and they achieve this through a range of certified organic ingredients: pink grapefruit cleanses whilst balancing the pH of the skin; papaya oil smooths the skin; rosehip oil assists in skin regeneration; and petitgrain oil inhibits bacterial growth & fights off acne (google also tells me that petitgrain oil – from the same botanical species as neroli and bitter orange – helps with stress management, so I officially want to find out more!). My skin definitely feels refreshed and balanced after using these – you know how some wipes leave you wanting to splash water onto your face? These leave no trace on your skin at all. And they have a really fresh, calming scent – I would’ve put money on cucumber, but since that’s not an ingredient I’m assuming it’s the pink grapefruit that I can smell. Whatever it is, it’s delicious!
This great local brand has amassed a cult following. Their Facial Wipes for sensitive skin won ‘Best Face Wipes‘ in the 2012 Beauty Heaven Best in Beauty, and their classic Biodegradable Wipes were named a ‘Best Beauty Product‘ in the 2010 Organic Expo & Green Show Awards. They are 100% biodegradable with no alcohol, chlorine, sulphates, petrochemicals or parabens – and they are cruelty free, with no animal extracts or animal testing. Good to your skin, the environment and our furry little friends. But really, their tagline says it all: 100% wot’s good, 0% wot’s not. And we all love a catchy tagline!
