The good:
My lipstick collection is getting a little too bright and colourful (red, maroon, tangerine…) and so the other week I grabbed this lipstick in an effort to find something slightly more neutral. I hadn’t purchased anything from SHE for years – I remember I used to own a few of their nail polishes – and I was quite excited to stumble across their shelf in Priceline.
The lipstick range offers an incredible 23 shades – and the one I snapped up was Charm. I’m not sure how to describe the colour – sort of a peach/salmon, with a gorgeous gold shimmer, if that makes any sense! It’s a great everyday colour with a demi-matt finish, perfect for the warmer months.
And it’s a dream to wear! The SHE lipsticks contain aloe vera, calendula, vitamin E, avocado oil, jojoba oil and evening primrose oil – so it’s super creamy and leaves your lips moisturised long after it wears off. It feels like a lip balm, but with the colour pay-off of a lipstick, and it lasts a good 3 hours without eating. It also smells quite relaxing due to the essential oils.
The bad:
The colour of Charm comes out almost too soft and pastel on my lips, due to my darker skin tone, but works a treat when I just want something light to wear during the day.
And the packaging:
The sleek, golden tube that this lipstick comes in makes it appear much more expensive that it actually is. And it’s been rolling around in my bag for a few weeks now, and still looks brand new – thanks to the lid snapping into place, and the embossed lettering on the side not scratching or wearing away.
