The oatmeal-like cream does not foam or lather, so you just need to add it to wet hands to form a smooth paste – although this can get messy, as it doesn’t form a paste as such, so you need to watch out for stray oats in your hairline! – then press it into your skin, very gently rubbing in half circles. Wash with warm water, and it’s like a home facial every day. It feels completely indulgent! And it has a subtle aroma of chamomile and geranium, which comes across as very cosy and hearty – like a big bowl of warm porridge (which I don’t even like, but the smell gets me!).
The tube itself is very simple, it’s a malleable tube with an off-white colour and nothing fancy about it, but I really like it. It feels like a grown-up paint tube. However I do worry that as I get towards the bottom it might snap in the creases, so fingers crossed that it’s strong and flexible enough.
And of course, I can’t review a Jurlique product without mentioning the brand themselves. A large amount of the ingredients in this exfoliating cream are certified biodynamic by the National Association for Sustainable Agriculture. Jurlique pride themselves on being a pioneer in natural skincare science – they were green before green was cool. This has given them over 25 years experience in developing high performance, naturally potent skincare blends, farming their own herbs and flowers on a 153-acre property in the Adelaide Hills.
So Jurlique isn’t cheap, but the science behind it is revolutionary. Read all about their Bio-intrinsic™ extraction process and prepare to be impressed. Suddenly it is worth every dollar! And the Daily Exfoliating Cream is a perfect place to start.
