Well hello Sadie! My skin has been very confused by this bizarre El Niño-esque weather Australia is seeing at the moment – rain one day & humidity the next, boots, skirts, bikinis & trackpants all on a constant rotation – so I’ve been relying heavily on this sassy siren to sort out any skin concerns. The Glamourflage Sexy Sadie Body Scrub* is just the right mix of exfoliation and moisturisation (is that a word?), leaving me with skin so smooth that a friend actually commented on it when she touched my shoulder yesterday!
I introduced you to Sally back in January, now it’s time to meet Sadie:
Ignoring the fact that they have spelt ‘camellias’ wrong on the packaging (I seem to be making a habit of this!), pin-up girl Sadie oozes confidence and has skin that looks good enough to eat. And will you just look at her lazing around on those palm leaves? Tough life. Although I’m not so sold on the lacy thrift-shop gear – I mean, have you ever looked at that section in your local vinnies? No thank you.
I’ve read some reviews that say this smells like freesias. To be honest, I’m not sure I would be able to pick that as a scent – so I would describe it as a nutty earl grey, with a tropical kick of coconut. Basically, it’s all kinds of delicious!
Now the actual scrub itself. It uses walnut shell powder as the main exfoliating ingredient, so I’ve done a little bit of research for you – and apparently walnut grit can actually be used for commercial cleaning and polishing (stones, soft metals etc)! So this much finer version is perfect to slough off tough and dead skin as the tiny particles retain the hardiness of the walnut shell, working to exfoliate and polish the skin. It also uses coconut extract and aloe vera to cleanse, tone and sooth, and vitamin E to restore moisture, so your skin is given the full treatment as you happily scrub away. You don’t need a lot, and I love using it before I’m due to shave/epilate as it prepares my skin and keeps away ingrown hairs.
I also use it on my arms regularly as I do experience very mild outbreaks of keratosis pilaris every now & then – these are small patches of red/white bumps that almost look like acne. What do the doctors recommend? Exfoliation, coconut oil and vitamin E – and Sadie has all of these covered!
Quick note – it’s clearly marked as a body scrub – so don’t go using this on your face! It’s far too harsh for that. But as a body scrub, it’s very close to perfect. And it lathers really well, so you only need a small amount each time, meaning this 100ml tube has already lasted 3 months and it’s just under half full (or is it half empty?).
