Our favourite health & beauty retailer are at it again! Priceline hosted more than 170 media, bloggers & influencers at their unique event, The Beauty Prescription [LIVE], at Randwick Racecourse earlier in February. And I was lucky enough to be invited! Take a peek inside…
“No other health and beauty retailer in the country has hosted an event on this scale, further cementing our position as Australia’s leading health and beauty store. Our unrivalled range contains some of the newest, innovative, often exclusive and most sought after products, with media and customers alike recognising that we are the number one destination for all their health and beauty needs,” – Mark O’Keefe, General Manager of Marketing, Priceline Pharmacy
Quick disclaimer: all photos were taken on my phone, and I was far too excited to waste time on focusing & getting the lighting right, so please forgive the rubbish quality!
In the interest of getting this up before the ‘upcoming’ products have become old news, I’m uploading these without any editing. So please enjoy!
Clockwise: Models & brand ambassadors Steph Smith (Bondi Sands) and Jesinta Franklin (Olay); Getting ready for the show; Kenneth Stoddart (Priceline Pharmacy Hair Director), Rae Morris (Priceline Pharmacy Makeup Director) and Priceline Pharmacy Sister Sam Harris; The delicious and dental-friendly breakfast that gave us all energy for the trade show to come!
The presentation part of The Beauty Prescription [LIVE] kicked off with a yummy breakfast and a look back at what Priceline achieved in 2016. Here were some of the more impressive stats that stuck with me:
- There were more than 59 million transactions in 2016
- 20 million of these were from Sister Club members
- Speaking of, Sister Club members spend 46% more than a non-member (guilty!)
- 22 more stores were opened, with 442 stores now open in Australia
- $3 million has now been raised for the Priceline Sisterhood Foundation to date
- 18,000 products are available across health & beauty
- 3.4 million lipticks & glosses were sold through Priceline in 2016
We were then treated to a preview of Priceline’s next 6 months; with new product launches, innovations, trends and other hot topics covered by key members of the Priceline Pharmacy buying team, who have just returned from international research trips.
We got a glimpse inside two of the fabulous new ranges coming soon from one of Priceline’s home brands, Models Prefer. The K-Beauty range will feature the latest in cosmetic formulations and show-stopping looks straight out of Korea – a hot spot for many of the trends we’re already loving. And big news, Samantha Jade is back! The strobing palette and brushes will be returning, along with some exciting new products. I adored the first collaboration, so can’t wait to try the next range!
And once the presentation and panels were done, it was time for the trade show I’d heard so much about. 70 retailers and just over 3 hours until I was supposed to be back in the office… if I get invited to the next one, I’m taking the full day off! It was beauty/skincare/wellness heaven, and we were all absolutely spoilt to bits by the gorgeous brands! To say I felt like a kid in a candy store feels like an understatement. Just take a look for yourself:
Clockwise: Crowds in full swing; The little haven created at the A’kin stand; Clay masks in their full instagram-glory at the L’Oreal stand; Getting a complimentary shoulder massage while learning about Skin Physics‘ latest range.
Clockwise: With Lily (lilynotlouise) taking advantage of the fab lighting thanks to Nyx; fresh flowers caught my eye at the Burt’s Bees stand; Trying to fit in with one of my fave brands at the Australis stand; Cementing my obsession with girl boss Renee Moore and her labour of love, Cinch.
Clockwise: Revlon know we can’t resist a cute guy in a suit!; Stopping for a quick health check; My ridiculous haul stuffed inside one of the special Priceline trollies (so thankful I drove!); So fresh and so green at the Botani stand.
And there we have it. My first Beauty Prescription Priceline haul! All of the gorgeous products pictured above are Australian made and/or owned – I was honestly overwhelmed at the amount of brands with a local focus, and didn’t think I’d discover so many! And the people manning the stands were so friendly and knowledgeable, happy to answer all my questions and take my business cards!
I was particularly taken by Izzi Dymalovski, the dynamic 14-year-old entrepreneur behind Luv Ur Skin, Barbara Filokostas, the founder of Botani who graciously treated everyone like an old friend, Peter Nicholas and his no-nonsense approach to creating Beauty by Nicholas, and of course Renee Moore of Cinch, a woman after my own heart with her easy approach to gorgeous skin.
And once I got home and explored my haul, my little nugget got a bit jealous of all my products! So I couldn’t leave him out of this post 😉
