I’ve obviously been hiding under a rock, because I had no idea that Bobbi Brown made skincare. I’m so familiar with them as a makeup brand that receiving a face cream caught me by surprise – but as it turns out, a lucky surprise! Winter + pregnancy has given me suuuuper dry skin, so this couldn’t have appeared at a better time.
The super rich formula of the Hydrating Face Cream* offers the ultimate in hydration without leaving your skin oily, making it perfect for normal to dry skin types. It plumps, nourishes and soothes the skin, while working to reduce fine lines and wrinkles – yep, it has all bases covered!
The best part in my opinion is that it doesn’t feel like a rich cream – it’s surprisingly lightweight, and my skin absolutely soaks it up. I think a lot of this comes from the botanical ingredients, such as algae extract and kukui nut oil, and an enriched mineral water blend that utilises ingredients found naturally in the skin to balance and revive. They replenish moisture without the heaviness that traditionally comes with creams designed for dry skin.
Side note – I need to try more products with kukui nut oil! I’d never come across it before, but this ancient Hawaiian ingredient claims to prevent wrinkles, soothe muscle aches, clear eczema, relieve sunburn, tame frizz and fix itchy scalps. It’s been called the new coconut oil, and it’s exciting that Bobbi Brown are branching out and using a lesser-known ingredient – with great success!
As you can see, the cream has a slight satin sheen to it, and I found that this gives my skin a beautiful glow. Perfect for the early winter mornings, when I desperately need to look more awake than I actually am! My thirsty skin gets everything it needs, and makeup applies like a dream once my skin has been infused with the goodness from this face cream. I’ve been using it for over a month and my normally moody skin has loved it, with no breakouts or freak-outs, just soft, plump, perfectly balanced skin. Plus the tub looks so chic on my bathroom vanity – they have absolutely nailed the branding & style!
Now that I’ve discovered Bobbi Brown skincare, what are some other products I need to try?
